This blog stemmed from a need to write about and immerse myself in the wonderful world of American art. The broad scope of the field provides a range of subjects and diversity in both the fine and decorative arts. It is my hope that these posts serve as academic contributions and educate a small number of people. They are meant to hone and maintain both writing and research proficiencies. Thinking intellectually and critically about America’s shared artistic history is important, as it allows us to promote our distinctive culture and learn how the past has influenced the aesthetics of our lives. It is my hope that you will take a little knowledge from this site and let it shape your perspective on Americana.
I hold an MA in American Fine and Decorative Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and a BA in English Literature and Art History from St. Lawrence University.
